Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarist Gary Rossington has been hospitalized for an abdominal infection in Jackson, Wyoming. The band's management said in a statement that they're "awaiting further tests and treatment" and will release additional information when they've learned more about Rossington’s condition.The band's scheduled shows Friday and Saturday at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi have been cancelled.

Rossington, 61, is the only founding member still left in the group's current lineup. He was 12 years old when he started the band that would release its debut album as Lynyrd Skynyrd nearly a decade later.
