Is He Or Ain't He?

Plant says he eloped with Patty Griffin.

Last year there were rumors that Robert Plant had married singer Patty Griffin, a member of his Band of Joy. (She is now a member of his Sensational Space Shifters.) The cagey singer recently offered a glimpse into his private life, saying, "I eloped and ran off to Texas. So now I spend half my time there [in Austin] and half [in England]." He adds that his rented home in Austin is "an old crack house" infested with termites. "I tap my hand on the table and they fly out the walls in this huge cloud, like something from a Disney film.”

Plant's first marriage, to Maureen Wilson, ended in 1983. They had three children together. Plant also has a son with Maureen's sister Shirley.

Plant and the Band of Joy just released a DVD. The Space Shifters are in the middle of recording an album. Plant and the Space Shifters will make their live debut tonight (Thursday) in London.
