DEEP PURPLE: New Book Covers Jam |
|
A new Deep Purple coffee table book will be published late this fall. Deep Purple at the California Jam features hundreds of black-and-white and color images from a number of photographers who had access to the band's rehearsals and performance at the 1974 festival, which drew more than 165,000 people. Ex-Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, who covered the Bee Gees' "First of May" on his last concert DVD, issued a statement saying he was "very saddened" by the news of Robin Gibb's death. "It is a great shame to hear of yet another death of one of the Bee Gees. Their music was on par with the Beatles -- they were great writers." |
