JOHN LENNON: Bermuda Shorts Mandatory |

The island nation of Bermuda will remember John Lennon with a series of events scheduled for June 21st. Lennon, who vacationed there shortly before his death, and wrote a few songs there including "Woman" and "Watching the Wheels," both of which appeared on his last album, Double Fantasy. In addition to a tribute concert, there will also be an album release featuring a number of artists interpreting his solo material and songs from The Beatles. Among the artists are Nils Lofgren, Paul Carrack and Maxi Priest. There is also a book, Bermuda Fantasy: John Lennon's Island Story, about his 1980 visit with drawings and photos of Lennon; a statue of Lennon outside the Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art; a Lennon garden will open in the botanical gardens; and the traveling Lennon art exhibit will make a stop at the Masterworks Museum. |
