Ann Wilson reveals she was an alcoholic in her forthcoming memoir with sister Nancy, Kicking & Dreaming.

In Ann and Nancy Wilson's forthcoming memoir, Kicking & Dreaming, Ann reveals that she battled alcohol and has been sober for the last three years. In the book she writes, "There was only one way this situation would turn out if I continued and that meant not being alive... Even after witnessing [fellow Seattle musicians] Andrew Wood, Kurt Cobain and my friend Layne Staley die, I still didn’t understand the power of my own demons.” Instead of going into a program, she says she quit cold turkey with the support of her family, friends, bandmates and therapy. Kicking & Dreaming will be out September 18th, followed by their new album, Fanatic, on October 2nd.
