KISS: 18 Strings |
|
Three original members of KISS -- Ace Frehley, Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons -- unveiled signature guitars last week. Gibson has recreated the cherry burst Les Paul Frehley played in 1977 but no longer owns. 50 of the initial stock were played and signed by Frehley during the final approval process. None of them smokes or shoots sparks. Stanley partnered with Washburn Guitars on the "Starfire" signature series. And Cort Guitars has unveiled the Gene Simmons AXE Guitar, a companion to his AXE bass. On Friday night at the Soho House in Los Angeles, Paul Stanley's wife Erin, along with Gene Simmons, threw him a surprise 60th birthday party (his birthday was Friday). All the current members of KISS were there and Stanley got up and sang a cover of Muddy Waters' "You Shook Me," which was made famous by Led Zeppelin. |
