Elton loses libel suit against The Times of London.

Elton John has lost his lawsuit against The Times of London. A High Court judge in England has ruled that the paper was not libelous when it published two articles this past June on the secrets of tax avoidance, which mentioned Elton. He said they implied he had been advised to engage in "immoral" schemes. Justice Tugendhat ruled that the pieces were not capable of being interpreted in that way, or of containing any other meaning defamatory to Elton. But, the judge did add that he understood why Elton reacted the way he did to the articles.

Elton started another residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas Wednesday night with dates through October 28th.
