BEATLES: "Lost" Performances May Be Part of Just-Discovered Video Archive
A recently discovered archive of recorded British TV shows could lead to the broadcast or home video release of classic Beatles performances. Examiner.com reports that a "vast amount" of BBC programs was recently found at a Nigerian TV station. During the days before satellite, tapes and films were often shipped to countries where British shows were popular.
The collection is highlighted by episodes of Doctor Who and, according to prominent Beatles historian Bill Harry, apparently also includes appearances by The Beatles on Top of the Pops. While the contents have not been publicly revealed, shows featuring The Beatles were often included in packages syndicated internationally.
