Paul McCartney performed on Saturday Night Live this weekend for the fourth time. He did three songs and appeared in one sketch. The songs were, in order, "My Valentine" from his last album, Kisses on the Bottom, featuring Joe Walsh on acoustic guitar, "Cut Me Some Slack" with Nirvana's Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear, which they premiered at the 12/12/12 concert, and, he ended the show, joined by a children's choir, with "Wonderful Christmastime."

He also appeared in one sketch, joining host Martin Short as the musical duo Kaleeb and Monte. McCartney, as Monte, was supposed to play the triangle. He kept saying he wanted to sing, but Short would tell him he couldn't. When McCartney screwed up his cue to come in on the triangle, Short flipped out and walked off, leaving McCartney to ask if he could now sing, and he then stepped back to join his band on "Wonderful Christmastime."

McCartney will be back in the studio Monday in London to resume work on his next album.
