PAUL McCARTNEY: It All Goes Back to Yesterday |
|
While Paul McCartney's new album, Kisses on the Bottom, did not scale the Billboard 200, it did sell enough to hit number-one spot on Billboard's jazz chart. McCartney tells us that recording this collection of standards was a "very organic process 'cause you're just making it up on the spot." That reminds him of how The Beatles used to record. "Me and John would bring in a song, and George, Ringo and George Martin wouldn't have heard the song, so we'd all just make it up." McCartney's February 9th performance of the album at Capitol Studios in Hollywood will be available on iTunes on March 6th. McCartney was in New York this weekend where Friday he took in a Knicks game at Madison Square Garden with his wife Nancy so he could witness "Lin-sanity," the term used to describe outstanding Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin. And on Saturday it was off to see Mary Poppins on Broadway with Nancy and his eight-year old daughter Beatrice from his second marriage to Heather Mills. |
