THE POLICE: "Every Breath You Take" Honored for Airplay Milestone
BMI London Awards saluted a collection of classic hits that passed airplay milestones, most notably "Every Breath You Take."
Along with honoring Adele, Tuesday night's BMI London Awards also saluted a collection of classic hits that passed airplay milestones -- most notably "Every Breath You Take" by The Police, which was certified for being played a total of 11-million times on U.S. radio and TV.
Among the other songs receiving new Million-Air certifications:
- "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" - The Rolling Stones - 8-million
- "Don't Stop" - Fleetwood Mac - 7-million
- "Black Magic Woman" - Fleetwood Mac and Santana - 6-million
- "Wonderful Tonight" - Eric Clapton - 6-million
- "Don't Stand So Close to Me" - The Police - 5-million
- "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart" - The Bee Gees - 5-million
- "Kiss From a Rose" - Seal - 5-million
- "Money for Nothing" - Dire Straits - 5-million
