Next Tuesday's evening of blues at the White House with Mick Jagger, B.B. King and Jeff Beck will also feature performances by Trombone Shorty, Buddy Guy, Warren Haynes, Susan Tedeschi and her husband, Allman Brothers guitarist Derek Trucks, along with Booker T. Jones as the music director and band leader. Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton was impressed with Foo Fighters' two performances on the Grammy Awards Sunday night, saying they "carried the night for rock. They do raw right." Alice Cooper will be on hand today at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles to help announce the nominees for this year's Revolver Golden Gods awards, a date for which has not yet been announced. Shannon Tweed says she hid her husband Gene Simmons' "30-year-old leather coat and I'm in New York trying to find a new one for Valentine's Day." She says KISS drummer Eric Singer made her do it. For the first time, legendary British record producer Glyn Johns (who turns 70 today) has co-produced an album with his son Ethan -- whose credits include Ray LaMontagne and Kings of Leon. It's the debut release by U.K. sister trio The Staves, due out later this year. |
