The Las Vegas Sun reports that Surf the Musical is rumored to be in trouble: the show is way over budget and lacks the band's official endorsement but uses 30 of their surf-rock classics in a fictional story.

The show is in previews now at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Vegas. The official opening is set for July 17th -- two days after the final U.S. show on the Beach Boys' tour.
