Bob Dylan's boyhood home might one day become a museum dedicated to the rock icon. Avid Dylan fan Bill Pagel is in the process of restoring the duplex at 519 North Third Avenue East in Duluth, Minnesota to how it looked when the Zimmerman family lived there from 1941 to '47. He tells the French news agency AFP that he has "a set of photographs taken by the family who moved into the Duluth house in 1947 right after Bob's family moved out, and I am using these photos as a guide in my restoration."
Pagel is already known among Dylan fans for the data-filled fansite Boblinks.com, which he founded in 1995. Six years later, he bought the house -- built in 1909 -- for $82,000. Finding it in "rough shape," his effort has been a labor of love -- since no one has offered any donations or grant money. He's also seeking concert posters, photos or song manuscripts with the hope that one day his Dylan house might make the National Registry of Historic Places.
