BEACH BOYS: New Album on Sale Today |

The eagerly awaited Beach Boys album is officially released today. That's Why God Made the Radio packs a dozen tracks, many with beach or vacation themes. There are plenty of their distinctive harmonies, along with a few melodies and arrangements that seem descended from their '80s chart-topper "Kokomo." While not breaking new ground, the album comes off like a new sweater that already feels nicely worn. Bruce Johnston says Brian Wilson's presence, as the band's guiding force, makes the project special. David Marks summed it up, telling us his first thought during the recording sessions, was "Brian's still got it'." |
