NEIL YOUNG: LP Recorded at Jack White's Due in March
That album Neil Young recorded at Jack White's Third Man Records in Nashville will be released in March.
The Third Man site says the album is called A Letter Home and describes it as "an unheard collection of re-discovered songs from the past recorded on ancient electro-mechanical technology [that] captures and unleashes the essence of something that could have been gone forever." That "ancient" technology is likely the Third Man record booth, a 1947 Voice-o-Graph machine that records audio and dispenses a six-inch phonograph disc to the user.
Young tells Rolling Stone that the recording was "one of the lowest-tech experiences I've ever had."
