Garth Hudson, the oldest surviving member of The Band, turned 75 in August -- and he's celebrating that milestone by working on a new album.
His wife Maud says, "He is very mysterious about whether he'll keep it 100 percent acoustic or utilize his modules with his sounds. Personally, I am thrilled to witness Mr. Hudson in a recording situation where he can play whatever he wants. We are terribly excited to begin documenting Garth Hudson during the year of his 75th birthday.”
Robbie Robertson is the only other surviving member of The Band, and their youngest. He'll turn 70 on July 5th. Richard Manuel died in 1986, Rick Danko in 1999 and Levon Helm in 2012.
