Elton John on why he named his new-born son Elijah Joseph Daniel.

Elton John says he and his partner David Furnish named their newborn son Elijah Joseph Daniel because "I have always liked names that have resonated over hundreds of years. When we were discussing the name of our second child, we liked the sound of [our first son] Zachary and Elijah together, there is a nice rhythm to the two names."

Elton says they chose the middle name Joseph because "we liked it, and it also reminds us of a much-loved rescue dog who lived with us for many years." And Daniel is from Elton's 1973 single of the same name.

Elijah was born through a surrogate on January 11th.
