Doors drummer John Densmore is set to self-publish his second book on the band.
The Doors: Unhinged - Jim Morrison's Legacy Goes on Trial will be out on April 17th through Amazon.com, and this time out Densmore writes about the 2003 lawsuit against his former bandmates Robby Krieger and Ray Manzarek, who wanted to tour as The Doors. He also writes about:
- How Morrison threatened to smash a car onstage if Buick used a Doors song in a commercial.
- Being sued by his former bandmates for $40 million, more than they collectively ever made.
- How Morrison’s father, a career Navy man, was thwarted in his career ambitions by his son’s rock star antics, but how he sided with his late son in court.
Densmore published his first book on The Doors, Riders on the Storm, in 1990.
