Frey is the first of three of the Eagles to release an album this year. After Hours, a collection of classic love songs from the '40s to the present, is out today. Frey says he has been working on it for more than two years, and it's his first release since 1995. "We recorded a couple of songs just to see what they would sound like and then they sounded so good we just kept recording," says Frey. Among the 14 songs are "Sentimental Reasons," "My Buddy," Brian Wilson's "Caroline, No," Randy Newman's "Same Girl," and "Route 66." Frey is celebrating the release with a few shows, starting tomorrow night at Town Hall in New York. The other shows are:
The other Eagles who are releasing albums this year are Joe Walsh, next month, and Don Henley, although no date has been announced. |
