THE POLICE: Andy's Arresting Life
Andy Summers' documentary premieres in New York.
Andy Summers, guitarist in The Police, was in New York Friday for the premiere of his documentary, Can't Stand Losing You, which is based on his 2006 memoir, One Train Later. The film, which was screened at the DOCNYC festival, follows his life from his early days in the London music scene to his chance encounter with Stewart Copeland and Sting, which led to the formation of the band. It features rare archival footage from throughout his career, along with behind the scenes and concert footage from their 2007 reunion tour. Summers, who also narrates the film, says, "I think people are gonna see things in a different way than they have done... It's a pretty honest film."
No word yet on if it will be screened elsewhere or when it will be released on DVD.
