Original KISS drummer Peter Criss, who was honored Saturday night in Freehold, New Jersey as the Humanitarian of the Year by the American Cancer Society, will receive the first Man of Courage award from the Beauty Foundation for Cancer Care on April 13th in nearby Colts Neck, New Jersey.

The Beauty Foundation for Cancer Care is a non-profit organization that serves to alleviate the physical, financial and emotional burdens patients and their families face while coping with cancer. The new honor will be named the Peter Criss Man of Courage Award. He says, "I think it's wonderful that the Beauty Foundation is giving exposure to male breast cancer. The more aware that men become that this is not just a woman's disease, the more lives that will be saved."

Criss was diagnosed and successfully treated for breast cancer in 2008.

Criss will be at the Mad Monster Party horror convention in Charlotte, North Carolina on March 22nd and 23rd.
