STEVEN TYLER: Idol Lawsuit

Steven Tyler's former management company files suit against his current lawyer over what they feel were botched American Idol contract negotiations.

Apparently Steven Tyler's former management company feels they did not make enough money off their former star client as they have filed a lawsuit against his current lawyer, who they say botched his American Idol contract negotiation and cost Tyler a $6- to $8-million deal to return to the FOX show.

The suit, filed last week in Los Angeles Superior Court by Kovac Media Group, claims that L.A.-area lawyer Dina LaPolt was hired to help Tyler negotiate a deal for a third season on the show, but she in turn botched things up and Tyler was not offered a raise and left the show. The suit also claims she convinced Tyler to fire his former managers and withhold a commission from an Idol severance payment. They are seeking more than $8 million in damages. When Tyler left the show he said it was to concentrate on Aerosmith and their new album, Music From Another Dimension, in stores November 6th.
