PAUL SIMON: Live From Downtown New York
Paul Simon releasing his first live album in 21 years on Tuesday.
Paul Simon is back with his first concert album in 21 years when Live in New York City hits stores and digital retailers on Tuesday.
Recorded in June 2011 at New York's Webster Hall (formerly The Ritz) during the first leg of his tour in support of his last studio album, So Beautiful or So What, this two-CD/DVD set contains 20 songs, with the majority of them from his solo career. Among the songs performed were “Kodachrome,” “Mother and Child Reunion,” “Gone at Last” and “The Obvious Child.” And from his Simon & Garfunkel days is "The Sound of Silence."
Simon's last live album, 1991's Concert in the Park, was also recorded in New York, but in front of a much larger crowd uptown from Webster Hall in Central Park.
