The Grateful Dead are launching a new app -- and giving away a bunch of live recordings. The Grateful Dead Almanac, which started out as a printed newsletter sent out by the band, is available as a free download from the iTunes App Store and features audio, video and news updates from members of the band.

On Thursday Dead.net will launch their third annual 30 Days of Dead. Every day throughout the month of November a previously unreleased live track track will be offered as a free download on Dead.net for one day only.
