ELTON, CHICAGO, McCARTNEY: Studio Subject of New Film

The filmmakers behind the upcoming CBGB movie will next tell the story of a famous recording studio. Caribou Records will take a fictional look at the actual Colorado studio where Elton John (who named his 1974 album after it), Chicago, Paul McCartney, Joe Walsh and many others recorded between 1971 and 1985. The studio was owned and run by Chicago's longtime producer, James William Guercio, who is a consultant on the film and will produce its soundtrack. Work on the film will begin later this year.

For some reason, recording studios are suddenly a hot film idea: Dave Grohl's Sound City, a documentary about an L.A. facility, is nearing release.
