Ousted Spider-Man director Julie Taymor argues in court papers that the producers of the most expensive musical in Broadway history conspired to get rid of her. Her lawyers say, "While secretly conspiring to oust Taymor and use and change her work without pay, the producers also fraudulently induced Taymor to continue working and to diligently make improvements." She also claims the current version is no different than the one she put together. Taymor was fired last March after the show underwent years of delays, accidents and a critical bashing. Since she was shown the door, the script was reworked and it has been packing in crowds since. Taymor filed suit against the producers last November, claiming copyright infringement and violation of her creative rights. The producers filed a counterclaim in January against her copyright claims, which has led her to these latest allegations.
