The Rolling Stones Ronnie Wood and Johnny Marr, formerly of The Smiths, joined forces on stage Wednesday night in London at the NME Awards. Both played guitar while Marr handled the lead vocal in place of his former band mate Morrissey on The Smiths' alt-rock classic "How Soon is Now?" Their six-song set also included a cover of The Clash's "White Riot."

Wood was there to accept Best Live Band and Best Music Film honors for the Stones and their Crossfire Hurricane documentary, while Marr was on hand to receive the magazine's Godlike Genius Award.

Other notable winners included The Killers (Best International Band) and Florence and the Machine (Best Solo Artist).
