ROLLING STONES: A Logo Without The Tongue? No Way!

The man who re-designed the Rolling Stones logo for the band's 50th anniversary says Mick Jagger didn't seem to care if his tongue was featured in it.

The man who re-designed the Rolling Stones logo for the band's 50th anniversary says Mick Jagger didn't seem to care if his tongue was featured in it. Shepherd Fairey, best known for the Barack Obama "Hope" posters, says he was overwhelmed when Jagger asked him to put a new spin on the band's famous lips-and-tongue logo. Fairey tells Rolling Stone, "Mick said he was open to any of my ideas. One of the first things I asked Mick was, 'Don't you think the tongue has to be included?' He responded, 'Yeah, I guess it ought to be.' Case closed."

Fairey previously worked with Jagger on artwork for his SuperHeavy project.
