PINK FLOYD: Deny Olympics Clai

Pink Floyd have issued a statement saying they won't be playing at the closing ceremonies of the Olympics.

Pink Floyd have issued a statement saying they won't be playing at the closing ceremonies of the Olympics. The statement says, "In response to press speculation, Pink Floyd state that the band is not performing at the Closing Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games." U.K. singer Ed Sheeran started the rumor when he told an Australian radio station, "I'm playing the closing ceremony... A lot of people think that I'm doing a song with The Who but I'm not -- I'm doing a song with Pink Floyd. I'm doing 'Wish You Were Here.'" Sheeran then clarified what he said by adding that the performance wouldn't feature all the surviving members of Pink Floyd, but that drummer Nick Mason would definitely be involved. So, even with Floyd's statement, Mason could still be involved.

The surviving members of Pink Floyd last performed together in 2011 when Gilmour and Mason joined Waters during The Wall show at London's O2 Arena.
