PAUL RODGERS: Free No More

Paul Rodgers says he considered reuniting Free to perform at the Summer Olympics in London, but that he, drummer Simon Kirke and bassist Andy Fraser decided against it. Rodgers says, "One of the things that is difficult in my mind is that [guitarist] Paul [Kossoff] was the soul of the band in many respects, and I hesitate to mess with that... It would mean getting someone who had a really great feel for that particular way in which Paul played... But there are no actual plans just now."

Free split up in 1973, and Rodgers and Kirke went on to form Bad Company that year. Kossoff died in 1976.
