VAN HALEN: Might as Well Postpone

Van Halen pulled the plug on the 31 dates they tacked on between July 7th in Connecticut and September 25th in Milwaukee. The last date will be June 26th in New Orleans. Though neither the band nor their spokespeople have offered an official reason, we contacted several venues and were told that tickets sales were poor. Van Halen played four of the markets on this first leg, and competition with summer shows and the state of the economy proved too fierce. And it hasn't helped that they've done very little promotion for their new album, A Different Kind of Truth, or the tour. As for the report that they "hate each other," if that were the case it's doubtful they would remain on the road for over another month.

Van Halen's next show is tomorrow (Saturday) in St. Paul, Minnesota.
