Paul Is Dead Almost.

Paul McCartney was almost in a helicopter crash in May.

A helicopter carrying Paul McCartney and his wife, Nancy, almost shaved off a couple of trees on his estate in East Sussex, England on May 3rd. Peter Norton, chief executive of the British Helicopter Association, says, “(The pilot) was going to land and realized he wasn’t in control of the aircraft because of the weather conditions and visibility. He pulled in lots of power to climb away and correct the aircraft to its proper flight path and missed whatever it was by two feet." McCartney had no comment.

But on Sunday at his opening show in St. Louis, Macca did have an accident as he fell on stage during the last song -- the medley of "Golden Slumbers," "Carry That Weight" and "The End." While running down the steps as he went from the piano to his guitar he missed the last step and went down hard. But he popped right up and joked that it was "planned." In 2005, Macca fell through the hole on stage in Tampa as his piano was lifted up on an elevator. His next show is Wednesday in Houston.

McCartney releases Live Kisses on Tuesday, a DVD/Blu-ray of the concert he did earlier this year at Capitol Studios in Hollywood, featuring songs from his album of standards, Kisses on the Bottom.
