BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN: You Should Always Go to the Second Night

Bruce Springsteen fans in Boston who only went to Tuesday's show are probably kicking themselves today.

Bruce Springsteen fans in Boston who attended Tuesday's show at Fenway Park and skipped last night's follow-up are probably kicking themselves today. According to some who were there, Springsteen and the E Street Band put on one of their best stadium shows ever in the U.S.

The 30-song set contained 18 numbers they did not do the first night, plus the 1975 piano arrangement of "Thunder Road." (On Tuesday they did a full band version.)

At one point Springsteen did five requests in a row, starting with the Eddie Floyd hit "Knock on Wood," a song the E Street Band has not done since April 29th, 1976 in Memphis, with Floyd himself joining in on vocals. That night is significant in Springsteen history, as afterwards he went to Graceland and jumped the gates in an attempt to meet Elvis Presley.

The tour moves to Gillette Stadium just outside Boston Saturday night.
