QUEEN: No Queen for Queen |
|
Brian May says Queen has not been invited to perform at Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee in London in June. May, who along with Queen drummer Roger Taylor, was part of her Golden Jubilee in 2002, says, "We don't have a right to expect anything. We gave our all to the 50th -- so now it's somebody else's turn." May kicked off the 2002 event by playing "God Save the Queen" on the roof of Buckingham Palace. Among the artists taking part in this year's celebration are Paul McCartney and Elton John, who were both on the 2002 bill. Tomorrow is the seventh anniversary of May, Taylor, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Roger Daltrey, Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel, Rob Halford, Jools Holland and other members of the U.K. music community, visiting Queen Elizabeth at a reception at Buckingham Palace. Queen, with singer Adam Lambert, have a warm-up show before performing at England's Sonisphere festival on July 7th. They'll take the stage on June 30th at Moscow's Olympic Arena. These are the only two Queen shows scheduled with Lambert. |
