ELTON: Queen Plays a King

Elton John is not a fan of doing videos or TV talent shows like American Idol and The X Factor, but he knows how to keep his mouth shut when the two come together and it means big publicity for him. Elton will be seen by millions this Sunday when he makes an appearance in a Pepsi commercial during the Super Bowl with last year's X Factor winner, Melanie Amaro. The ad is called "King's Court" and it features rock's biggest queen playing the "king of rock." Melanie sings the classic "Respect" in front of a "royal court of rock" ruled by "king" Elton.

Elton, who will be performing on Super Bowl Sunday in Caracas, Venezuela, will be rooting for the New England Patriots over the New York Giants, since he's friends with Patriots owner Robert Kraft. Elton is in Lima, Peru tomorrow night.

As for the halftime show with his on-again, off-again friend Madonna, Elton has some advice for her -- "Make sure you lip-sync good." He also says he would never do the halftime show because "you have to play live, but I don't think you can. In all fairness to everyone who's done it before, I think you may be able to sing live, but it's really hard to play live."
