Queen+Lambert?

QUEEN: Just a One-Off?

Though Queen will join forces with American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert for the Sonisphere festival on July 7th at Knebworth Park in Hertfordshire, England, there are no plans for a tour. However, while it has not been announced, drummer Roger Taylor says they'll play a warm-up show or two in Moscow before the festival.

Guitarist Brian May says, "Judging by my incoming mail, this decision will make a lot of people very happy. It's a worthy challenge for us, and I'm sure Adam would meet with Freddie Mercury's approval. And what better place to revisit and walk those emotional paths than Knebworth? It will be a rush." Knebworth is the last place Queen performed with Mercury on August 9th, 1986.

May and Taylor first performed with Lambert when he was a finalist on American Idol in 2009. They then joined forces last November at the MTV Europe Music Awards.

May and Taylor appeared at last night's Brit Awards in London, presenting the award for Best International Act.
