Plans for a remake of Yellow Submarine have run aground. Rolling Stone reports that Back to the Future and Forrest Gump director Robert Zemeckis has pulled out of the project. He was to have partnered with the Disney studio in a new version of the 1968 animated classic that was powered by Beatles songs and stories. But Disney dropped out of the project last year. And now Zemeckis tells Total Film magazine, "It's probably better not to be remade — you're always behind the eight-ball when you do a remake."
