On this day in 1982, Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Randy Rhoads was killed after the pilot of a small airplane he was in flew low to buzz Osbourne's tour bus, then failed to re-gain height and crashes in a nearby woods. He was 25. Rhoads's fast-tapping style of playing on Ozzy's first two solo albums, Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman, has inspired countless guitar players over the past three decades. |
