ROD STEWART: Supports His Local Law Enforcement |
|
Rod Stewart and his wife, Penny Lancaster, were on hand Saturday night at the Palm Beach Policemen's Ball at Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida. Stewart, who owns a home in Palm Beach, was greeted by the Palm Beach Pipes and Drums and their rendition of the Scottish national anthem, "Flower of Scotland." He also shelled out 18-grand during the auction to become sheriff-for-a-day in the swanky seaside community. The prize includes lunch with Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw, a visit to the jail, meetings with SWAT team members and crime scene techs, and a ride on the department's helicopter. All the money raised goes to pay for college scholarships for the children of Palm Beach Police personnel. Stewart, who also has a home in Beverly Hills, California and two in England, returns to the concert stage on January 31st in Jakarta, Indonesia followed by February dates in Australia and another Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace starting on March 24th. |
