LYNYRD SKYNYRD: Honor for Rossington
Gary Rossington to be honored by the Georgia Music Hall of Fame
Lynyrd Skynyrd founding member and guitarist Gary Rossington will be honored for his songwriting at the 34th annual Georgia Music Hall of Fame Awards Concert and Show on October 14th in Atlanta. He has written well over 120 songs, including such Skynyrd classics as "Sweet Home Alabama,” “Simple Man” and “What’s Your Name.” And being inducted that night in the group category is 38 Special, whose singer is Donnie Van Zant, the brother of the late Skynyrd singer Ronnie Van Zant and current Skynyrd singer Johnny Van Zant.
