PAUL McCARTNEY: His School Lends a Hand to Lennon's School

Paul McCartney's Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts in England has reached a deal to buy the building that housed the art college that John Lennon and original Beatles bassist Stu Sutcliffe attended. It's also where Lennon met his first wife, Cynthia. The building was going to be turned into apartments. But LIPA, which is headquartered in the former home of the Liverpool Institute for Boys, which Macca and George Harrison attended, spent $5.9 million to make it part of its complex.
