GERRY RAFFERTY: His Music to Be Celebrated in His Native Scotland

Gerry Raffferty's musical legacy will be honored at a week-long April festival in his native Scotland. The one-time Stealers Wheel frontman, who enjoyed even greater success with the solo album City to City, would have turned 67 on April 16th. That will be date of the the Bring It All Home festival's main concert -- featuring other Scottish rockers, including Midge Ure of Ultravox. There will also be memorabilia displays and an art exhibit.

Gerry's daughter Martha tells the BBC, "I'm looking forward to marking what would have been his 67th birthday with a great bunch of artists and musicians. Breathing new life into his songs is always a pleasure. It's also fantastic to be able to stage this festival in Paisley -- his home town meant a lot to him and inspired much of his work."

Long plagued by alcoholism, Gerry Rafferty died in January 2011.
