Some schmuck is out there peddling T-shirts marking the passing of former Deep Purple keyboardist Jon Lord, with the claim that they are officially licensed by his family. That is not the case, and a post on his website says, "They are upset that anyone should profit from this tacky endeavor -- unless the money is given to charity, which seems very unlikely. They ask that you respect their feelings and not encourage this behavior."
Lord died of cancer in July. He was 71. His last album, Concerto For Group and Orchestra, was released this past Tuesday.
