BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN: Fires Up 41 More Shots

With all the outrage over the shooting death of 17-year old Trayvon Martin last month in Sanford, Florida at the hands of a community watchman who said he felt threatened by the hooded unarmed youth, Bruce Springsteen broke out "American Skin (41 Shots)" during his show Friday in Tampa, Florida.

Springsteen wrote the song in 2000 after another shooting death, this one in New York, of unarmed immigrant Amadou Diallo, who was shot 41 times by the NYPD. When Springsteen performed the song that year in New York, the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association called for a boycott of his Madison Square Garden shows.

In addition to "American Skin," Friday's show in Tampa also featured six other tour premieres -- "Prove It All Night," "Atlantic City," "Radio Nowhere," "Does the Bus Stop at 82nd Street," "Talk to Me" and "Glory Days." And during the encore of "Tenth Avenue Freeze-out," Springsteen brought out Clarence Clemons' son Jared, who played tambourine and stood next to his cousin, Jake Clemons, a member of the new five-piece horn section.

Springsteen is in Boston tonight.
