ROLLING STONES: A Clue?

Is Keith Richards' latest tweet a clue as to the future of the Stones?

We now know that The Rolling Stones recently spent time in a Paris recording studio. And now Keith Richards has posted a tweet, that perhaps, reading between the lines, could lead one to at least be hopeful that they are working on new music. He writes, "We're a determined group of lads. Nothing short of nuclear weapons is going to put this lot out of action."

The Stones are celebrating their 50th anniversary and there is talk of possible dates in October and November or next year. As for another album, it would be their first since 2005's A Bigger Bang.

In other Stones news, their 1966 film Charlie Is My Darling - Ireland 1965 has been restored and will be screened at the 50th New York Film Festival in celebration of the band's 50th anniversary on September 29th with an encore screening on October 3rd. Both screenings are at the Walter Reade Theatre in Manhattan. The film was shot on a quick tour of Ireland just weeks after “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” went to number-one. It's an intimate, behind-the-scenes diary of life on the road and features their first professionally filmed concert. This updated version, with never-before-seen footage, will also be shown on TV, though no date has been announced, and will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on November 6th.
