BOB SEGER: Too Superstitious to Sing the National Anthem
Bob Seger loves baseball nearly as much as he loves his music.
Bob Seger loves baseball nearly as much as he loves his music, but the Michigan native and lifelong Tigers fan won't sing the national anthem when the World Series moves to Detroit a few days from now. Blame it on being superstitious.
Seger told WCSX radio's Ken Calvert, "I told my manager Punch [Andrews], make sure they know I'm not doing any anthems, because in 2006 I did one and we lost. So I'm going to do my part for the Tigers, and I promise them I will do no anthems. I'm taking one for the team."
