BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN: Takes Over South By Southwest

Bruce Springsteen will kick off the music portion of the South by Southwest Festival today by delivering the event's keynote address this afternoon at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas. Springsteen and the E Street Band will then play "a special show in an intimate venue for South by Southwest attendees." The venue will be announced after Springsteen's speech.

E Street guitarist Nils Lofgren says playing these special events like South by Southwest and last week's Apollo Theater show and the Grammys has been an odd way for the band to get warmed-up for the Wrecking Ball tour. Lofgren says he's been experiencing "strange kind of adrenaline" because he loves playing with the band, but he hasn't been able to do all of his regular pre-show rituals.
