BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN: Born to Educate

A Bruce Springsteen symposium will be held next month in his native New Jersey.

Attention, Bruce Springsteen fans -- Glory Days: A Bruce Springsteen Symposium is returning to Monmouth [pr: MON-muth] University in West Long Branch, New Jersey next month. The course, first offered in September 2005, will run from September 14th to the 16th. Organized by the University of Southern Indiana in conjunction with Monmouth University and Penn State Altoona, the symposium will have more than 100 presentations on all things Bruce -- including presentations by his former manager Mike Appel, Peter Ames Carlin (author of the upcoming book Bruce), Nick Mead (director of the Clarence Clemons’ documentary Who Do You Think I Am?) and Robert Santelli (executive director of the Grammy Museum). There will also be performances at the Stone Pony in nearby Asbury Park by Joe Grushecky and the Houserockers, Willie Nile, The Sensational Soul Cruisers featuring J.T. Bowen, The Nick Clemons Band and others.
