JIMMY PAGE: Soundtrack Album Rising

Jimmy Page announced Friday that he's releasing an album of "avant-garde compositions and experiments" he recorded in the early 1970s. He's titled it Lucifer Rising and Other Sound Tracks because he wrote one of the songs for Kenneth Anger's film Lucifer Rising, though it wasn't used. The album will be available exclusively through JimmyPage.comstarting tomorrow.

The album is pressed on heavyweight vinyl, sells for about $30 and has liner notes and commentary on each track. There's also a more expensive special run of 418 numbered copies, the first 93 of which Page has signed. He hasn't said if there's any significance to those numbers. A lottery today at 2:00 p.m. ET will determine who gets to buy the special editions.
